What is a Belemnite?

Belemnites were marine animals that lived 196 million years ago!! Their closest living relatives are squid and cuttlefish, however unlike the squid that live today, belemnites had a hard internal skeleton, the skeleton at the end of their tails formed a bullet like shape, and these are the fossils we find today!
